I have it for a couple weeks ago and today I just feel they know well enough to write a decent review. First off, the camera looks really sleek and feels solid and well built. His appearance is not as metallic as the Z1, but the feeling is very similar. Sure, you can use it from day one with everything the user to auto, but if that's all you ever you do, you're better off with something much cheaper, as the tiny high-definition cameras that are appearing everywhere. Speaking of Day 1 is the first accesory necessarily a kind of bag or suitcase. Sony has a backpack that great but it costs more than $ 500. I have the Kata bag that is perfect. I've also included the large battery and cables, not with the camera (Firewire, HDMI, XLR extension). Also, I have SONY HD Master MiniDV tapes and a regular Sony MiniDV Tape 6pack After preliminary tests, I must say that the image on the Master HD video is significantly better ... The main menu is easy to navigate, although sufficient levels to be lost until you explore each one twice. One thing is that there are a lot of things on the menu, and the button and the wheel are very small selection ... or maybe my hands are too big? My main use of this menu you have to select the progressive mode or interlaced and 60 frames, 30 or 24 seconds. Also, I used to assign all assignable buttons below the handle, adjust the temperature of the white balance, adjust the zoom speed in dealing with low (thus dealing with the zoom is slow and controlled my capture, zoom and rear is fast, very useful) and change the gain setting (which left everything to 0, the less grain this way). The range of the lens G is perfect since it goes from wide angle to 20x zoom. Three ND filters are great, but I really what a shoot out, the details of a sunset brilliant picture profiles well, here you can use all kinds of color adjustments have including gamma rays, depth, do movement reveals wb, etc. Here I created a profile on Cinematone 2-base, I've just connected to a monitor and made some adjustments to my personal taste. These profiles can be assigned to keys readily available, BTW. Both the stereo and directional microphones are excellent, even if I did not used to deliver a sufficient amount to provide a more complete assessment. I do not have the storage unit as an option (MRC1K), but have not found, it is absolutely necessary. It would be nice, but I had no problem capturing HD video via FireWire to Adobe CS3 PremierePro, running on a Mac. I could buy it, if, but only after a nice tripod, a lighting kit, and a DOF adapter kit. Will post an update when the unit has suffered the greatest long-term, but could not be better first 0-0 people found this review helpful. A solid workhorse for functional CharlieMike I like this photo. Robust, reliable and fully functional. Two lenses, though. First, it is heavy for its size. I eventually succumbed to reality and now use a post-sales support shoulder. Secondly, when using the MRC1K memory unit (almost $ 1000 worth), the largest of the battery can be used is the NPF770. Higher capacity batteries are too large to allow the installation of MRC1K. I love the memory unit for two reasons. First, is a return of the band. Secondly, it is faster to transfer data from a CF card on a computer to be part of the band. Read 2 reviews ....
