My sister came to Anderson last Christmas with a new Sony hard drive HD camcorder. She said she paid more than $ 1000 for. I pulled out my Aiptek, took some video, connected to my plasma, and no lie, it looked better than her. I kind of felt bad - I think she was really bummed. If all you're looking to do is just a camcorder that you can football, outdoor excursions, etc. shoot. this is what you need. The owners manual for the Sony HD is one inch thick, and I almost never use all the features most camcorders I have ever bought. I am so happy with this camera. It works best outdoors in good light and is so-so in low light. The picture is fantastic, the battery life good, and you'll need at least 4-8 gig SD card. 27 of 27 people found the following review helpful. Good lighting is essential - autofocus is a bit 'slow Cloud Walker If you have good lighting and a steady hand the video of this camera is excellent with the best results are obtained in well lit rooms or outdoors during the day complete. Low light situations are not too bad (maybe tied with some standard definition video). Technology For Great Backyard Videographer value I owned video equipment during the 30 years since it was made available to consumers, from $ 3500 a combination of shoulder-mounted camera to the great party which has requested a video released to the same shoulder.
